Many like my parents have died off and those willing to consider investing in an rv community want more than is being currently offered at LA--- this is a place that has a pool-- back 30yrs. ago that was an attraction - today almost every1 has a pool in their backyards -- the trailers back then were new -- now they are mostly outdated and more than a few a reaching derelict state-- the housing stock is getting old and needs replacement but who wants to invest in a 40 to 50G trailer in a park that is in strong need of a housecleaning-- weeds are allowed to grow all season, leaves aren't cleaned up in the fall and they are still there the next fall still uncollected. Empty boat trailers, utility trailers and even a heavy equipment trailer are allowed to sit in the same spot for years, rusting away and are never moved or used -- some rv trailers i suspect are being used for personal storage or even business storage (cheaper than a commercial storage building). The infrastructure for electric, water and sewer needs to be upgaded to accommodate requirements for new trailers and to comply with the current codes and get in compliance with various federal statures. In addition to the infrastructure upgrades, some other upgrades are necessary in the public rest rooms, showers, parking lots and parking lot lighting, and laundry facilities.

So as much as you may want everything to be the way it was when it was a simple campground -

the fact of the matter is change must be made to accommodate laws, entice new members who will be willing to replace the old housing with new trailers and to help pay for necessary upgrades.
To get to the point that new members are willing to consider LA must become more relevant with the times. New emphasis in getting this place cleaned up, upgrades completed, and a review of the social and activity functions at LA to make them more relevant to 2008. This must become more attractive to 2008 families or LA is destined to become a run down and abandoned slum rv community.

IT WILL MATTER TO ALL THE PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF RACE, RELIGION, GENDER OR POLITICAL PERSUASION.

THIS WAS QUITE FRANKLY ONE OF THOSE MOMENTS THAT YOU WILL REMEMBER.

Woman Sat on Toilet for Two Years

The sheriff is recommending charges in the case of a western Kansas woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for so long that her body became stuck to the seat.
Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said Thursday he asked the county attorney to file charges against Kory McFarren for mistreatment of a dependent adult. The county attorney will decide whether any charges are brought. The attorney has not returned phone calls seeking comment.
News about the case made Internet headlines around the world and left many of the town's roughly 1,500 people incredulous.
"The unfortunate thing is this truly is a case of two people, in my opinion, with diminished mental capacity," Whipple said.

THE SOUND SYSTEM THAT IS USED FOR THE OPEN BOD MEETING SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR JUST ABOUT ALL WHO VOTED IN THE POLL - ALL WANT A BETTER SYSTEM WHICH YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR - EVERYTIME I GO TO THE MEETING I WONDER WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH GETTING A SYSTEM TO WORK PROPERLY AND ALLOW THE MEMBERS TO HEAR THE PROCEEDING-- AFTER ALL WE KNOW THE SOUND AT THE CLUB HOUSE WORKS FINE - THEN AGAIN MAYBE THE DJ BROUGHT IT WITH HIM -- TODAY A GOOD SOUND SYSTEM DOESN'T COST THAT MUCH AND I THINK MOST PEOPLE WHO ATTEND THE BOD MEETINGS AS WELL ANY OTHER FUNCTIONS THAT NEED SOUND WOULD NOT COMPLAIN IF THE COMMUNITY SPENT THE MONEY FOR A NEW AND BETTER SYSTEM-- THEN AGAIN MAYBE THE BOD WOULD RATHER HAVE IT THE WAY IT IS--- AFTER ALL YOU KNOW THE OLD SAYING " KEEP THEM IN THE DARK AND FEED THEM S---!" LOOKING AT THOSE POSTED PRICES I SEE THAT THE GAS STATION OWNER'S SHARE IS 19.5% OF THE TOTAL COST OF GAS. AT TODAYS COST OF GAS BEING ABOUT $3.13 PER GALLON THIS GUY WOULD MAKE ABOUT $.61 PER GALLON -- I DON'T THiNK ANYONE MAKES MORE THAN $ .10 TO $0.25 PER GALLON TODAY- THIS GUY WAS CLEANING UP WHEN GAS WAS $ .205 PER GALLON - BUT I'M SURE BY THE NATURE OF HIS SIGN HE DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT HIS PROFIT WAS ENOUGH- WHO WOULD BELIEVE IT?

WELL HERE WAS THE OLD DAYS -- THIS GUY MUST HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TAXES ON EACH GALLON OF GAS -- WONDER WHAT HE'D DO TODAY? PROBABLY MADE EVERYTHING ON THE WORMS.
