residency replys

It is my understanding that the town is making LA enforce the residency rule. For as long as I can remember you cannot live there year round, don't know why, but I think it may be part of the covenants.

Seems like someone cares about fellow LA property owners. True, if someone breaks the rules by registering, voting and getting PA credentials and stays they are wrong, but, if someone is out of a job or lost their home and have no place to live why can't they stay at LA except for a period of time?? The whole country is in trouble and if property owners can't understand this think of what the result wpould bem supporting people living on the street. Maybe people could respond with their thoughts on this

  1. The property is set up as a resort and not zoned by the county for permanent residency as reflected in our property taxes. If people were allowed to live there year round because they lost their own home we would start to have welfare residency and that's a big problem at Trails End. I can make money by renting the property and welfare starts shaping our community also. The increase in year round utilities as well as additional maintenance will be reflected in our dues. One step leads to another. It's against the law for one and I regret if I sound callous but I didn't buy property at LA so I could support the homeless. I do enough of that at my main residency. There are other legal agencies that should be considered rather than placing the burden of supporting the homeless on us property owners.

  2. YOUR COMMENTARY IS TRUE, OUR PROPERTY IS NOT TAXED AS RESIDENTIAL, AND I FOR ONE DO NOT WANT TO SEE THAT CHANGED. WHILE I CAN FEEL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT HAVE ANOTHER HOME, IF YOU LOOK AT SOME OF THESE LOTS QUITE ALOT OF MONEY HAS BEEN SPENT ON THEM, SO I REALLY HAVE TO QUESTION THE OWNERS MOTIVES FOR STAYING YEAR ROUND.
