Hello LACHIPPER!

My husband and I just purchased in Lake Adventure at the beginning of October. We love the community.....we agree that it would be great to have someone pick up the leaves from alongside the road at each site. We've been sweeping the leaves on our property for the past three weekends and we expect to do it again next weekend! Having to drive the leaves down to the collection site is definitely a pain.

We are happy to be part of the LA "family". We've seen numerous turkeys and deer and the chipmunks and birds are lovely to watch! We actually saw a black bear cross 759 about 4 weeks ago! Yikes!!! LOL

We had the opportunity to see the community this past summer and it looked like all were having a grand old time at the pool, beach and in the clubhouse. We look forward to next spring and summer!

My email address in KLuers1@AOL.COM if anyone wants to write to me. How again, do I become a member of the blog spot???? I'm a little slow when it comes to this stuff. Hope you can advise.......

Thanks so much.

Sincerely,
Kathleen and Bernd

LEAVES

Ron -thanks 4 your comment--- the asso. use to collect leaves but stopped this service - i think this was a mistake -- the leaf collection process is difficult enuf without asking people to drive them down to the pile at maint. wrhs.-- they just don't do it because it too hard or they are not able to because they are the more senior members of the community -- a schedule could be developed and a method identified to collect leaves from driveways or street side several times in the fall and spring -- this should get more people to come to la during these cleanups and get the job done-- it also would foster the attitude that taking care of your property is an important function-- plus quite frankly anything that gets people involved with la is beneficial to all members--

i welcome any other responses to this leaf problem or any other of my rants -- thanks --chipper

FAILURE!!!!!

yes i said failure -- that is what is happening here in the la community -- management and the bod are allowing the community standards to deteriorate -- all season long properties are overgrown with weeds, covered with leaves and in many instances just piled with junk. they are not setting a standard that is expected to be maintained by the property owners, they are not or have no back up plan to deal with absentee property owners negligible behavior. this has resulted in a safety hazard and health hazard. all one has to do is look at what the current situation is in California and it isn't hard to imagine a fire starting and spreading throughout this community. granted these are not million $ properties but i know many members have a few $ invested and don't want that threatened by mismanagement.

as i suggested in previous posting the rules regarding property maintenance should be enforced-- weeds cut, leaves raked and collected, debris, litter and junk should be removed-- if the property owner doesn't do it then come up with a plan that will remedy these situations-- uh .....maybe utilizing the maintenance dept. -- out side contractors - setting up service programs that maintenance could do and have a bill back to the property owners--- oh yea i know what if they don't pay? file a lien against the property when a certain dollar value is compiled -- after all they probably aren't paying their dues either and the sooner they straighten out or leave the better for the community----

the asso. members expect the bod and management to protect our interests -- that's not being done

let's hope that it soon starts!!!!!!

  • AGAIN -- THE PEOPLE RUNNING THIS AFFAIR DID A GREAT JOB -- YOU SURE COULD TELL BECAUSE THEY WERE RUNNING AROUND TRYING TO GET EVERY1 SEATED AND FEED -- THEY DESERVE A REAL PAT ON THE BACK
  • THANK YOU AGAIN!!

cold cold cold

cold and rain ----- but it will be a good weekend -- i guarantee it - really!

dingman meetin

  • meetin with dingman twnshp went fairy well -- really!
  • twnshp witnesses were presented and they gave their assessment of the situation with both parties -- township engineer gave his personal opinions of the situation -- on cross exam by la attorney it was established that most all his observations were based on his personal experiences in his life -- no hard data or accepted standards were used by him to get to his opinions-- not much relevance to his testimony -
  • next was the planning officer -- much better presentation by this individual -- starting off with the case bein that there are needs for both la asso. and the twnshp and that a plan should be developed to address both parties needs and concerns-- went well -- minimal cross by la attorney --
  • next meetin set for early november
  • not many la asso. members present but it was out of season so i guess that the best that one can expect

leaves

yes leaves are beginning to turn and they're fallin --have to get out the leaf blower and start gathering them up

POINT OF INTEREST -- last year and this spring the community did not have leaf collection-- that's not good -- a lot of people find it an undue hardship to collect leaves and transport them down to the maint. wrhs. area -- some simply have not the ability to do this ( OLDER MEMBERS?) or don't have the stamina to accomplish this task -others just find it to be too great of a hassle- as a result leaves are left uncollected and this creates a unsightly appearance throughout the community not to mention that these accumulated leaves are a fire safety issue, health issue: breeding environment for insects including mosquitoes , flys and ticks--

it also fosters a bad habit that allows some members to ignore the tasks of maintaining their properties --

if everyone was encouraged to blow or rake leaves onto piles along the roads then be picked up on designated days in the fall and spring --

if the reason is that the community owned truck and/or blower is broken and to expensive to repair then contracting this function out would be an alternative approach and ultimately a less expensive function to accomplish

every small step that is taken by the asso. management and the bod to improve the appearance of la will ultimately lead to an overall improvement in the community appearance as a whole-- and improvements are needed -- so how about starting with the leaves????
