HI I DID SEND MY RESUME IN TO THE BOARD,I DO RUN A BUSINESS NOW FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS AND I MANAGE A WELL KNOWN AND SUCCESFUL OPERATION,I HANDLE ALL ACOUNTS PAYABLE AND RECEIVEABLE DAILY PROBLY TWICE AS MANY AS LA.I HANDLE ALL LATE AND NON PAYING CLIENTS.I READ BLUEPRINTS WEEKLY AND SUPPLY BIDS FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE JOBS.I HAVE AN EXCELLENT RELATIONSHIP WITH OVER 40 VENDERS THAT I PURCHASE FROM DAILY.ALL MY EMPLOYEES MEET MONTHLY TO GO OVER GOALS,PROBLEMS,AND IDEAS TO BENIFIT THE COMPANY.I GIVE OUT WORK ORDERS AND DEL. ron -- i also think you should be considered for the job -- this discrimination by the bod is wrong on so many levels -- they are passing over people that have a personal interest in seeing that la is properly managed for someone that has no interest in la but the salary -- and from what i hear they aren't offering enough to get anyone near qualified for this job== these bod directors have so many hangups and are paranoid on so many issues that it blinds them to real problems at hand and prevents them from making anything near a reasonable decision--- or they are just stupid-- that is a real possibility

this process they are employing may well blow up in their face and if it does i still am in favor of starting a recall of the entire board -- they are dysfunctional and incompetent --- it is breath taking how simple they can be on what should be straightforward solutions to the problems in front of them--

if a recall isn't necessary ---then others need to step forward and run for the open board seats at the spring election cycle -- it doesn't matter who is removed since they all act in unison and no one on this board stands out on their own--- if they do then let them let the community members know their positions on the issues before this board-- they can do that with this blog or even start their own blog and post their thoughts---- the issue that is used by board members is that any discussion by a bod member that criticize the actions of the board is detrimental to la-- well let me tell them something -- their actions are what's detrimental to the welfare of la-- they aren't advancing or enhancing the community members interests on any level-- they are failure as a board and should be removed before things really go south for this community

so the challenge before this community is

to know what each bod member is doing for the community--
to consider a recall --
to promote new people to run for the board

members need to get involved now -- not later

  1. Let's stop all this talk about property owners being property managers. First off, will you live in LA? No because you can't. Will you travel from your permenant residence to LA every day rain, snow or shine? Unless you live down 739 I doubt it. And if you feel you are so qualified for the job why don't you run for the board or volunter your expertise and business knowledge to make LA a better community. Talk is cheap but actions speak louder than words. If people are so great and know how to make LA a better place GET INVOLVED, get on fact finding groups or relay your input to the board on ideas to correct problems. We all know the board is not comprised of pro's so help them and maybe LA will be a better place. Why do people crawl out of the woodwork when they see $$$$?

  2. Okay. I understand your concerns, but lets get off of the fact of a property owner being the manager... ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. this is the way its been for as long as I can remember. I dont care how much experience you have, a property owner should not be the manager.

    Another thing.. is "you only get paid for your expertise" what the H*** is that. For someone who is so concerned about the welfare of LA seems to only be concerned with $$$$$$$
    Do yourself a favor.. go somewhere else. We do not need any negative people who are only concerned with $$$$ over the good of lake adventure. I am sure with this attitude you would be a great manager.. ha.

    If you are REALLY concerned. You should become a more involved community member, learn more about the history of LA.. and most importantly get off of this blog.. and start doing something else...
    Didnt your mom ever tell you, if you have nothing to say.. dont say anything at all.

  4. Very good comment!! If everyone believes a pro has to run LA why don't we hire a pro, a management company. Yes I know you must be sure your contract has every dot and t's crossed but if so many people say that a pro with managerial experience is needed so be it and stop playing around with no manager, a board that seems to be trying , but not being very successful will only lead us to closure of the community with funds depleted. Let's face facts, with the financial situation the way it is do you think property owners will pay dues to LA if they have to choose between doing that and buying food? We all better wake up and not hope Santa will bring us a present at Xmas of solving all the problems at Lake Adventure.

  5. There seems to be a double standard when it comes to hiring personnel at LA. Don't we already have a manager on staff that is a property owner? From what I understand -- I may be mistaken -- the Recreation Director (and in my opinion a "director" is a management position) is a property owner here and during the off season that person works in the administration office. So why is that okay and not for other management positions?

    I see nothing wrong with hiring someone who happens to be a property owner if they have Community management experience and the expertise to perform the job of General Manager. After all, they have a vested interest in seeing this particular park succeed. But, they need to be willing to relocate to this area -- remember, this person has to be pretty much on call to make major decisions or handle any emergency situations that arise, especially with the electrical situation and all the construction or repairs going on within the community.
