  1. I think employees do a good job, the question is why are we paying so much in dues to keep the place running? A catch 22, the dues go up and fewer people pay them so the dues go up and fewer people pay them. In scanning the For Sale by Owner list there are many trying for years to sell their lots without success. Same for the Joco site which has many more listed for years. It would be difficult to buy another lot somewhere else if you can't sell the one you have. We have to seriously think about our investment and how to best improve the situation if don't want more people abandoning their property. I'm lucky, I don't have a rodent infested abandon eyesore next to me but if I did I doubt I'd be able to sell my property either. Never said I didn't like LA. I enjoy my place but think we need to keep up with the competition if we want a new generation of buyers to invest.

  2. Anyone who doesn't support ccla must be getting some sort of payout i would think. CCLA from what i understand is looking out for our situation. Maybe you should take your sticky fingers and get them caught at eagle lake. Ignorant people i tell you.

  3. The CCLA

The first time I ever heard of the CCLA (Concerned Citizens of Lake Adventure) was when I received an unsolicited letter from them dated December 2007. I believe that may have been before any member of the organization was elected to the LACA Board of Directors.

They began the letter with their objection to the extreme increase in the 2008 dues and continued throughout the piece with other ‘questionable’ judgments and decisions that had been made by the board which were not made easy public knowledge to the Owners. But the whole purpose of the letter was at the end: to please send in your check for $25, 50, 100 or more to pay for CCLA’s legal expenses.

I realize this was a year ago, but I have yet to hear exactly who this group is that I was suppose to donate to: what is their current agenda, when and where do they meet, how many members, who is in charge, do they have their own website or blog to keep members informed, etc. Perhaps if THEIR information was made public to the Community, there would be a better acceptance and more Owner involvement with CCLA. I think a watchdog organization IS a good way to help maintain accountability and keep Owners informed but it should be managed openly and responsibly.
